Camping in Sommières
Located in the Gard department, in the Occitanie region, less than 3 km from the Domaine de Gajan campsite between the Camargue and the Cevennes, the village of Sommières will seduce you with its many facets. Come and visit its castle and its ramparts, in July and August many medieval animations are proposed, on Saturday mornings, you can stroll or buy local products at the market very appreciated by its visitors, a night market is also organized in July and August, on Wednesday evening.

- From Sommières, you can take the Voie Verte to Caveirac on 21 km of trails reserved for pedestrians, bicycles …
- Swimming in the river and fishing: the Vidourle is a river much appreciated by fishermen. You can also swim on a beach set up for this purpose near the arena, but not supervised, or at Lecques.
- Canoeing and stand up paddle: numerous courses and treasure hunts on the Vidourle river starting from Sommières.
- Le Roc de Massereau.
- Visit the castle, the olive grove, the paved streets with multitudes of craftsmen.
Sommières is also a traditional Camargue town, with its festival, the “gazes” where the manadiers make the horses and bulls cross the river, but also the eventual release of 100 horses or 50 bulls in the streets of the town.
